Brad Thor, a “writer” of political thrillers, on the sales uptick when his “books” are mentioned on Glenn Beck’s radio show. Thor and his cohort specialize in a right wing escapist genre that almost certainly makes Dan Brown look like Dostoyevsky, a genre I’ll unoriginally dub “dick lit”.
I’m certain that this pulp is gobbled up by the same crowds, sequestered away in the forgotten, backwards hellholes of “real America”, who eagerly await the release of Sarah Palin’s screed. Which shouldn’t be at all surprising since Thor and Palin both exploit the same qualities in their supporters — ignorance of the world around them, unwillingness to change that ignorance and an eagerness to blame the world’s problems on some vague “other”. All delivered at a comprehension level your average fifth grader would find boring.
